The announcement was made on Monday during a State Executive Council meeting held at the Council Chamber in Minna.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor expressed gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their service to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
However, key officials in the Government House, including the Secretary to the State Government, the Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chief of Staff, and other top aides, will remain in their positions.
The commissioners affected by the dissolution were those who came into office at the beginning of Bago’s administration in 2023.
“Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has dissolved his cabinet. The farmer governor announced the decision during the State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber, Minna.
“He appreciated them for the services they had so far rendered towards the development of the state and wished them the best in their future endeavours.
“The farmer governor, however, said he has retained his Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and other principal officers in his office,” Ibrahim stated.
KanyiDaily recalls that Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji recently announced the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election in the state.
