Woman Arrested For Allegedly Killing Her Sister Over ₦800 Debt In Ondo

A trader in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, has been arrested for allegedly killing her elder sister during a dispute over an ₦800 debt.

The woman, identified as Bosede Iluyemi, reportedly asked her sister, Omowumi Tewogboye, to repay the money for some tomatoes and peppers bought on credit.

An argument broke out between the two sisters, which later turned violent.

During the confrontation, Bosede allegedly grabbed Omowumi’s clothes, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries.

She was quickly taken to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.

The Ondo State Police Command swiftly responded to the incident, arresting Bosede and taking her into custody.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, confirmed the arrest, adding that the matter is under investigation and that the law will take its course.

KanyiDaily also reported that police arrested one Abdullahi Saliu for allegedly posing as a Nigerian Army colonel to defraud unsuspecting victims of N1.377 million in a fake job recruitment scheme.
