In a video lcircukati circulating on social media, the performer explained that he never intended to mislead anyone.
He said his stage name simply reflects his admiration for the real Flavour, not an attempt to profit off his fame.
“I’m not using Flavour’s name to scam people; I just love him,” he said, addressing the backlash surrounding his performances across Nigeria.
The impersonator also revealed that his show fees are far lower than what the original artist would charge.
According to him, he earns between ₦700,000 and ₦800,000 per performance, which he claimed is a modest amount compared to the superstar’s rates.
“Flavour would never perform for that amount. People who book me know I’m doing my own thing, and I’m not pretending to be him to get money,” he said.
The video has sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users found his explanation genuine and amusing, others argued that using the name “Fake Flavour” could still confuse fans.
Despite the controversy, the performer insisted that his brand is built on admiration, not deception.
KanyiDaily recalls that Flavour N’abania recently shared an adorable video of himself with Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji, sparking curiosity online.
