Destiny Boy’s Sister Addresses Claim Their Mum Cursed Him Before His Death

The elder sister of late Nigeria singer Destiny Boy has reacted to claims that their mother, Saidat Adeshina, placed a curse on the artist before his death.

Destiny Boy’s death has been circulating on social media since on Sunday, drawing public attention and speculations.

Saidat had spoken about her son’s long health battle, saying his illness started about two years ago while preparations were underway for the naming ceremony of his first child.

She explained that the family explored every possible option, including hospital treatment and traditional remedies, in an effort to help him recover.

According to her, Destiny Boy was eventually taken to an Ifa priest, Ifayomi Oba Edu, whom he reportedly saw as a father figure.

She described the illness, known as “Oku or,” as a condition that caused him to suddenly become stiff, similar to epileptic seizures, and later display signs of mental distress once he regained consciousness.

The late singer’s mother added that the family deliberately kept the issue away from the public.

However, a different account surfaced during a TikTok live broadcast where an old video of Saidat was played.

In the video, she was heard angrily confronting her son over allegations that he had cursed a woman named Rodiat.

In the heated exchange, Saidat made statements that many viewers interpreted as placing a curse on him.

You dare curse Rodiat? And you know me. You have been trying to build your house for the past 10 years you could not. You are useless. Unless I am not your mother, will my curses not come to pass?” Destiny Boy’s mother declared

The video triggered backlash online, with some social media users calling for Saidat’s arrest.

Reacting to the controversy, Destiny Boy’s elder sister came out in defence of their mother in a video that has since gone viral.

She criticised the TikTok host for spreading false and harmful claims about her mothe, Saidat.

She maintained that the incident was nothing more than a disagreement between a mother and her son and questioned the evidence behind the accusation that their mother wished him harm.

The singer’s sister also condemned the online abuse directed at Saidat and challenged those making the claims to prove that her mother was responsible for her brother’s death.

She dismissed other rumours, including allegations that Destiny Boy was involved in money rituals, insisting that such claims were baseless and unfair.

“I am Destiny Boy’s sister. I am seeing something that is going viral on TikTok and Facebook, where bloggers are writing about it,” she said.

“Did you see it when Destiny’s mother killed her own son? Because you are cursing Destiny Boy’s mother now. Is it possible for a mother to kill her own child?

“He fought with my mother. And my mum was talking to him so that he would listen to her and obey her.

“Do you think you can just abuse anyone you feel like abusing anyhow? You also said he did a money ritual. Were you there when he did it?”

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command confirmed on Monday that one suspect has been arrested in connection with Destiny Boy’s death, as investigations continue.

KanyiDaily recalls that in November 2024, Destiny Boy welcomed his first child at the age of 20, months after reportedly proposing to his partner with a diamond ring believed to be worth millions of naira.
