Police Arrests Seven Staff For Stealing N20m Goods From Employers’ Shop In Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested seven people over a theft case involving goods worth N20.45 million from a commercial store in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area.

DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the police spokesperson, said that on January 3, 2026, a man named Ogunyomi Segun reported at the Ore Divisional Police Headquarters that some of his employees had been stealing from his store between 2024 and January 3, 2026.

The complainant said the stolen items included soft drinks, Trophy cans, and other canned beverages, with a total value of about N20,450,000.

The suspects were identified as Oyineke Joseph, the storekeeper; Abioye Yusuf, the computer operator; Abdullahi Quadir, another staff member; Michael Njoku, one of the receivers; Agu Monday, another receiver; Ikuemehin Oloruntimilehin, another receiver; and Ojewuyi, the driver.

Jimoh added that during questioning, the suspects admitted their involvement and explained the roles they played in the theft.

He said they will be charged to court once the investigation is complete.

KanyiDaily also reported how police arrested a 24-year-old woman, Jessica Anthony, for allegedly arranging a robbery against her boyfriend of two years in Delta State.
