The demonstrators, who are distillers, blocked the entrance to the agency’s office located along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway on Tuesday.
Their action was in response to the shutdown of some companies following the ban on alcoholic drinks sold in sachets and in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles smaller than 200 millilitres.
Carrying placards, the protesters displayed messages such as “Tinubu does not want jobs to be lost,” “Stop destroying local manufacturers,” and “NAFDAC should release products put on hold.”
They also sang solidarity songs while preventing vehicles from entering the premises.
