The issue began on X, formerly known as Twitter, after a user identified as @notralia alleged that Neo sexually assaulted her when they were both students at the University of Calabar (UNICAL).
The post quickly spread across social media, drawing widespread attention. In response,
Neo’s legal team, E.L. Akpofure SAN & Co., released a statement denying the allegation.
In a formal letter, the lawyers described the claim as completely untrue and defamatory.
They said the accusation has caused serious harm to Neo’s reputation and emotional well-being by portraying him as a criminal.
The legal team demanded that the accuser remove the post immediately, publish a public apology and retraction, and provide written assurance that no further damaging statements will be made about their client.
They also gave a 48-hour deadline for compliance, warning that court action would follow if the demands are ignored.
At the time of filing this report, the accuser had not issued any public response.
