South African Police Arrest Woman Over Killing Of Nigerian E-Hailing Driver

Police in South Africa have arrested a woman over the killing of Isaac Satlat, a 22-year-old Nigerian ride-hailing driver in Pretoria West.

Satlat, a University student in South Africa, was attacked on February 11 after responding to a service request.

Surveillance footage circulating online shows a woman in the front seat assaulting him while a man seated in the back joined in.

The Nigerian man was allegedly strangled during the attack.

Authorities said the suspects later lefted his body in the car and drove off with the vehicle.

It was gathered that the car was eventually found in Atteridgeville, with Satlat’s body still inside.

In a statement, police confirmed the arrest of a female suspect and said investigations are ongoing.

The police have arrested a female suspect after an e-hailing driver was allegedly killed while inside the car in Pretoria West on Wednesday, 11/02.

“More arrests are imminent as the police investigation continues,” the statement from the police reads.

“Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was murdered by a male and female who had requested the services of an e-hailing driver in Pretoria West.

” The hijacked vehicle and the body of the victim were found in Atteridgeville on the same day.”

The arrested suspect is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face charges of murder and car hijacking.

Isaac Satlat, who was studying in South Africa, was reportedly preparing to graduate in March.

His death has caused anger within the Nigerian community and has revived discussions about the safety of foreign nationals living in South Africa.
