His comments come amid an ongoing court case between him and May, who are in the process of legally ending their marriage.
The public dispute began in April 2022 after Yul announced actress Judy Austin as his second wife.
In 2023, May officially filed for divorce, accusing Yul of adultery and demanding N100 million in damages.
Reports suggest the case has been delayed due to disagreements over key issues, including the adultery claim and conditions tied to the marriage breakup, such as remarriage rights.
As the legal battle continued, rumours surfaced online suggesting that Yul had cut ties with his children from his first marriage.
Addressing the speculation during an appearance on the “KaaTruths” podcast, the actor said the claims were untrue.
He explained that he remains actively involved in his children’s lives, keeps in touch with them regularly, and supports them financially.
“I am in contact with my children. I have heard a lot of things. About people saying ‘he abandoned his children’,” he said.
To support his point, he revealed that his second son recently gained admission into a university and completed his matriculation, adding that his son personally informed him about it.
“My second son just got into the university months ago. He just did his matriculation a few days back. Infact, he told me a day before time, and I told him I was busy,” he said.
“The people here on social media are just one per cent of the truth. The real things happening in people’s homes, the main issues, do not even come out on social media. The crux of my matter is not on social media.
“Everything people say are all speculations. Someone comes up with something and blows it out of proportion. And then they were waiting for me to come out and respond.
“People are so interested in knowing what is happening. And most of them are even having family problems. They have not solved their own problems; they want to know what is happening in another man’s.”
He further explained that his decision not to post pictures or updates about his children with May on social media is due to a court order connected to the divorce proceedings
“There is also a court order. There is a divorce case going on. That is why I cannot really speak. It says anything that has to do with the children, for their own safety, I should not post,” he added.
KanyiDaily recalls that Yul Edochie and his second wife, Judy Austin, welcomed their third child together last year.
