Part of the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation building in Abuja was affected by a fire on Monday morning.

Eyewitnesses said the fire was first noticed around 8:20 a.m., when smoke began rising from Section C of the complex.

Staff working in the area were seen leaving the building as emergency responders were contacted to handle the situation.

The media unit of the Office of the Head of Service later confirmed the incident, explaining that the fire was confined to Section C and that emergency officials were already working to bring it under control.

Authorities have not yet determined what caused the fire. An investigation is expected to begin once the situation has been fully contained.
