Iran Apologizes For Attacking Neighbouring Countries, Vows Never To Surrender To Israel, US

Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, stated on Saturday that Iran will not surrender to Israel or the United States, as the conflict in the Middle East enters its second week.

Speaking on state television, Pezeshkian said those hoping for Iran’s unconditional surrender would be disappointed.

Iran’s enemies must take their wish for the unconditional surrender of the Iranian people to their graves,” Pezeshkian said.

The tensions began on February 28, when Israel and the US carried out strikes that killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, sparking wider regional hostilities.

In retaliation, Iran launched missile and drone attacks against Israel and US targets in nearby countries, particularly in the Gulf.

Pezeshkian is part of a three-member interim leadership council managing the country since Khamenei’s death.

In his address, he apologized to neighboring nations affected by Iran’s attacks, saying such strikes would only occur if those countries were involved in attacks against Iran.

“I must apologise on my own behalf and on behalf of Iran to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran,” he said.

“The interim leadership council agreed yesterday that no more attacks will be made on neighbouring countries and no missiles will be fired unless an attack on Iran originates from those countries.”

KanyiDaily recalls that US President Donald Trump recently demanded that he should have a say in who becomes Iran’s next supreme leader, after the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
