Tinubu made the remarks on Thursday while receiving members of the renewed hope ambassadors at the State House.
According to him, the ongoing leadership crisis in the party stems from Atiku’s alleged effort to “privatise” the ADC.
Tinubu also questioned Atiku’s track record during his time overseeing Nigeria’s privatisation efforts.
The president argued that key projects handled under that programme failed to deliver results.
“The head [Atiku] was the chairman of the privatisation council of Nigeria (NPC). He privatised the steel industry in Delta; is it working today? No. He privatised Ajaokuta. Is it working today? No, I can go on to list.
“They privatise another man’s political party, but the man (owner) said no,” Tinubu said.
The ADC has been facing internal conflict since July 2025, when an opposition coalition assumed control of its leadership.
The situation worsened after Nafiu Bala, a former deputy national chairman, claimed that the leadership under David Mark was not properly constituted.
KanyiDaily recalls that Nafiu Bala’s supporters protested at the INEC headquarters in Abuja over ADC leadership struggle.
