INEC Restores David Mark-Led ADC Leadership On Website After Supreme Court Ruling

INEC made changes to its website on Thursday, showing David Mark as the ADC national chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as the national secretary after a Supreme Court ruling.

The development reverses an earlier move by INEC in early April when it removed the Mark-led leadership from its website.

At that time, INEC said it acted based on a Court of Appeal decision related to a leadership dispute within the ADC.

Both the group led by Mark and Nafiu Bala, a former national vice-chairman of the party, have been claiming control of the party.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court instructed Mark to return to the Federal High Court so the issues surrounding the party’s leadership crisis can be properly heard and decided.

In a unanimous decision, a five-member panel of the Supreme Court led by Mohammed Garba faulted the Court of Appeal’s order that told all parties to maintain “status quo ante bellum”..

Following the ruling, the ADC section on INEC’s website, which had been removed before, has now been restored with the full list of party leaders headed by Mark.
