Presidency Seeks Legal Action Against VeryDarkMan Over Fake Tinubu Audio

Bayo Onanuga,  the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, made the demand in a post shared on X, accusing the influencer of distributing misleading content online.

Onanuga, who said the audio being circulated was fake and misleading, stressed that the influencer should be made to face the full force of the law, describing the act as a serious misuse of social media.

“This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu. This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform,” he wrote.

His comments came in response to an X user who questioned why some people believed the voice in the viral recording was actually that of the president.

In the video linked to the controversy, VeryDarkMan used the audio to warn Nigerians against supporting Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, which fueled the backlash from the presidency.
