The appeal was made in a video shared on the church’s official X account, where the congregation asked the singer to make a donation toward roofing the unfinished structure.
The video captured worshippers gathered inside the building while rain fell heavily through the open roof.
Some altar priests were seen kneeling in prayer as members sought shelter under temporary canopies set up in the church premises.
The church building appears to be partially completed, with the walls already in place but the roof yet to be installed.
The canopies provided little protection from the rain, leaving many members exposed to the weather.
The church also shared its bank account details and encouraged social media users to repost the message, adding that every contribution would make a difference.
“Hi David, @davido we humbly seek your financial support to cover our church. CCC IGI OLUWAGBIN PARISH. Account No: 1026784448. Bank: UBA. Every seed counts. A Kindly RETWEET.”
Davido, who is widely known for helping fans, charities and people in need, has not publicly responded to the request at the time of filing this report.
