VeryDarkMan Cleared In Police Impersonation Case After Two Years

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced that a criminal case filed against him by the Nigeria Police has been dismissed by the court.

VeryDarkMan shared the news on his Instagram page on Tuesday, August 4, saying the court struck out the case because there was not enough evidence to support the allegations against him.

The case began after the activist appeared in a video wearing a Nigeria Police uniform, leading to claims that he had impersonated a police officer.

Following an investigation, he was arraigned in court in 2024.

Reacting to the judgment, VeryDarkMan described the outcome as a major victory, saying the legal battle lasted for about two years before coming to an end.

The activist celebrated the decision in a series of social media posts, saying he had been “honourably discharged and acquitted.”

He also joked that some of his critics would be disappointed by the outcome including former Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi and a former Inspector General of Police.

VDM thanked his lawyers and supporters for standing by him throughout the court proceedings, adding that he was pleased the matter had finally been resolved.

Celebrating the development, VeryDarkMan wrote: “First of all congratulations to me.

“After 2 years of battling in court with the Nigerian police over the charge that I wore a Nigerian police uniform, therefore impersonating the Nigeria police, a criminal offence punishable by 2-5 years.

” It is with great pleasure to announce to you all that the battles are all over, the case have been struck out for lack of evidence and therefore I have been honorably discharged and acquitted.

“VERYDARKMAN IS NOT GUILTY 😂😂😂😂 former force ppro Olumuyiwa Adejobi will not like this💀💀 former IG will not like this 😂😂 haters will not like this.

“VICTORY VICTORY VICTORY🔫🔫 REMEMBER I HAVE LAWYERS LIKE SH0ttas, I CAN NEVER LOSE.

“I AM NOW THE IG OF ONLINE POLICE.”
