“90 In Lagos, 27 In Katsina” – Nigeria Confirms 229 New Cases Of Coronavirus As Total Hits 8068

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 229 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infection in the country to 8,068.

In a tweet on Monday night, NCDC said 90 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, 27 in Katsina, 26 in Imo, 23 in Kano and 14 in the Federal Capital Territory.

Twelve cases were confirmed in Plateau, nine in Ogun, seven in Delta, five cases each in Borno and Rivers State, four in Oyo, three in Gombe, two in Osun, and one in Anambra and Bayelsa State.

The number of COVID-19 recoveries also increased from 2,263 to 2,311, while fatalities rose from 226 to 233 in the country.

“On the 24th of May 2020, 313 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

“The 313 new cases are reported from 17 states; 229 new cases of #COVID19; Lagos-90, Katsina-27, Imo-26, Kano-23, FCT-14, Plateau-12. Ogun-9, Delta-7, Borno-5, Rivers-5, Oyo-4, Gombe-3, Osun-2, Anambra-1, Bayelsa-1.”

“Till date, 7839 cases have been confirmed, 2263 cases have been discharged and 226 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory,” NCDC said.
