Carney Chukwuemeka has been named Chelsea’s Goal of the Month for August.

Chukwuemeka won the prize over Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, Zak Sturge, and Leo Castledine.

The fans largely voted for the youngster’s spectacular strike in the Blues’ 3-1 defeat to West Ham United.

In the 28th minute, the midfielder wriggled through the West Ham defense before unleashing a thunderous shot beyond Alphonse Areola.

Chukwuemeka received 61 percent of the vote, with Sterling receiving 31 percent.

The 19-year-old is now unable to play due to a hamstring injury.
