Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Ange Postecoglou after just 39 days in charge, following a 3-0 home loss to Chelsea on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou Sacked As Nottingham Forest Coach After Losing To Chelsea

The Australian coach was dismissed after eight matches without a single win, with the team now sitting dangerously close to the Premier League relegation zone.

In a brief statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the club said: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment at this time.”

Owner Evangelos Marinakis reportedly walked out of his seat during the match at the City Ground, and confirmation of Postecoglou’s dismissal came shortly after the final whistle.

Postecoglou was appointed on September 9, just months after leading Tottenham Hotspur to Europa League glory.

However, his short stint at Forest saw no wins and six defeats in eight games, prompting the club to make yet another managerial change — their third of the season.

Speaking before the Chelsea match, Ange Postecoglou had expressed confidence that, given enough time, his projects “always end with me and a trophy.”

Former Burnley and Everton manager Sean Dyche is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement.

KanyiDaily recalls that Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca recently revealed that midfielder Cole Palmer will be out for another six weeks due to a groin injury.
