Media houses in Kaduna State have removed their sign boards following threat by the Boko Haram sect to attack them. Early this week, the sect in an 18 minutes video posted on You Tube, said 11 media organisations are on their list for possible attack.
Our correspondent, who went round Kaduna metropolis, observed that the media houses have removed their sign boards.
Apart from newspaper houses, broadcast organizations like the NTA, FRCN, KSTV, and some private radio stations have also removed their sign boards.
The stateโs Commissioner of Police, Mohammad J. Abubakar has however, called on media practitioners not to be panic, saying his command in compliance with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammad D. Abubakar, has deployed men to patrol areas where media houses/ offices are located.
He urged journalists to be vigilant and report any suspicious person or objects to the nearest police station for prompt action.
