In 2004, the IOC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) in Lausanne,Switzerland, agreeing to use its leverage to help combat the dreaded AIDS/HIV. As part of its commitment to fighting the dreaded disease, the IOC distributes hundreds of thousands of condoms to athletes at the Olympic Games. Eko 2012 Sports Festival has not been different as the medical sub-committee has distributed thousands of condoms to athletes, coaches and technical officials participating in the ongoing 18th National Sports Festival.

As at Monday, Sports Vanguard checks revealed that over 35,000 male and 21,000 female condoms have been given out at the various centres including Rowe Park Sports Complex, YABATECH, UNILAG, the National Stadium…..coninue reading
