The victory will make Senator Alhassan the first elected female governor in the history of Nigeria.
Her main opponent is PDP’s Mr Darius Ishaku.
She will not be Nigeria’s first female governor however, a distinction belonging to Mrs Virginia Etiaba, who became governor in Anambra State after then governor Peter Obi was impeached.
UPDATE: Sadly Senator Jummai Alhassan lost. Result by INEC showed PDP got 310,805 votes while her party APC got 261,326 votes.

Hi Kanyi, Nigerian women are going places, congratulation to Senator Jummai Aisha Alhassan. I did a post about Linda Ikeji's blog success story in 234 words that's how much I appreciate Nigerian women.
Good luck dear.
