AIT Owner, Dokpesi Released After Being Arrested While Returning To Nigeria From Medical Trip

“Raymond Dokpesi, has been released after over an hour of detention at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday afternoon.”

Raymond Dokpesi, the founder of DAAR Communications, owners of African Independent Television (AIT), has been released.

The media mogul, who was returning to the country, after seeking medical treatment in Dubai, was arrested by security operatives at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja on Friday.

AIT confirmed via Twitter that Dokpesi has been released after being in detention for an hour.

“UPDATE: Media magnate, Raymond Dokpesi, has been released after over an hour of detention at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday afternoon.

“Chief @RaymondADokpesi was detained on his return from a medical treatment /operation at the American Hospital Dubai, by a security operative who said he had orders from above.”
