Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa Steps Down From Atiku’s Presidential Election Petition Tribunal

Justice Bulkachuwa was asked recuse herself because she is married to a senator-elect of the APC and will be biased in the case.

Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa has recused herself from the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja following a petition filed by the presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku and his party, PDP, had asked Justice Bulkachuwa to recuse herself from the Presidential Election Tribunal because she is married to a senator-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and will be biased in the case.

On Wednesday, Justice Bulkachuwa recused herself after a prolonged sitting.
