Katsina State Police Command has arrested two young men, Ismail Abdulmumini and Sani Haruna, for raping their neighbor’s 10-year old daughter in an uncompleted building in the state.
According to the police, the father of the victim, Isah Abdullahi, reported the incident at the Dandume police station on May 17, 2019, a day after the suspects were said to have been caught molesting the victim.
It was alleged that the accused persons, who are both 20-year-old, lured the victim into a nearby uncompleted building where she was sexually abused.
The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime during a police interrogation and would be charged based on their alleged confession that they molested the 10-year-old girl.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, said investigation into the case was in progress and the accused persons were subsequently ordered to be remanded in the Katsina Prison custody.
The alleged rapists would appear before Katsina Senior Magistrates’ Court, on July 8, 2019, to answer to charges of criminal conspiracy and rape leveled against them.
