Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has declared Monday, 2nd September 2019 (Muharram 1441 AH) as Work-Free day to mark the new Islamic year 1441 After Hijra (AH) in the State.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Information, Sani Abba Yola, on Friday, 30th August 2019.
The statement explained that the holiday was in commemoration of the new Islamic calendar marking the 1st Day of Muharram 1441 AH equivalent to Sunday 1st September 2019.
Governor Ganduje urged public officers and Civil servants to utilize the work-free day and pray for peace, stability as well as the progress of the stare and the Nation at large.
