Residents Flees In Panic As Another Fuel Tanker Falls And Explodes In Onitsha [Video]

Residents scampered for safety on Friday morning, October 18, as a fuel tanker reportedly falls and explodes along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway by Bessoy filling station in Anambra state.

This is coming barely 48 hours after a tanker laden with petroleum products fell into a ditch and exploded at the Upper Iweka and Ochanja market, leading to the death of some residents and destruction of property worth millions of naira.

.Another tragedy has occurred around Omaba Phase 2 as another tanker was loaded with premium motor spirit (pms), also known as petroleum products, has fallen in the middle of the road, spilling its content which flowed into a drainages.

The report said some residents close to the area where the fuel tanker fell fled their homes over fear of a repetition of the of an incident that occurred barely 48 hours earlier.

At the time of this report, no casualty had been recorded or reported in the incident that was confirmed by the commissioner of police in the state, John Abang.

“This time around the fire service responded well after they were contacted by my men,” the commissioner said.

There was another fire outbreak in Omagba phase 2 Onitsha this morning at 3am. A number of vehicles were burnt as a result of the fire.
