The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Office, has revealed that popular internet fraudster, Hope Olusegun Aroke aka H-Money, who is serving a 24-year jail sentence for fraud, has been discovered to have masterminded $100 million scams from prison.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that In 2016, Justice Lateefa Okunnu of the Lagos State High Court, sitting in Ikeja convicted and sentenced Aroke to 24 years imprisonment for his involvement in an internet scam that fetched him N25m.
However, in a statement issued on its official Instagram page on Monday, the EFCC said Aroke masterminded the coordination of a scam worth over $100,000 (N36.3m) while still serving his jail term.
EFCC said the convict (Aroke) is still in active communication with other high valued targets that are currently being investigated by the Commission for various offenses relating to computer fraud and money laundering.
