Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) branch, have carried out their threat by declaring total boycott of lectures and academic activities pending the payment of their unpaid arrears.
The lecturers’ union had earlier issued a 10-day ultimatum to the university to pay their August, September and October salaries or face industrial action.
Following the decision reached at the congress of the union held on the campus of the institution, ASUU decided to embark on a lecture boycott.
The Chairman of the chapter, Dr. Biodun Olaniran, while speaking with journalists, said the decision was reached after reviewing the situation regarding non-payment of three months salaries.
Olaniran disclosed that apart from the boycott of lectures, results of rain semester will be withheld while students’ project defense will be put on hold.
