FCMB Gifts Little Girl N1million, Awards Her Scholarship For Using ATM Light To Write Her Assignment

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has rewarded a young girl by name Dele with the sum of N1 million, and also awarded her scholarship to university level after she was spotted doing her homework with the bank’s ATM lights along Yaba road in Ondo State.

A few days ago, a Twitter user identified as Bada Maruf Mathew shared a photo of a young girl he met at FCMB, using the light from the Bank’s ATM for her school work.

FCMB got hold of the viral photo and were attracted to the girl because of her act of determination and requested that the little girl should be located.

“We are inspired by Dele’s determination to study. It’s great our ATM Gallery could light her books for the evening, but we would love to do more to support. Can you please help us find Dele? Please RT until it gets to someone who knows her,” the bank wrote.

The bank has finally located the young girl fondly called ‘Little Dele’ and she stays with her grandmother, she attends a private school named ‘Hope of Glory Academy’.

Little Dele reportedly said there has not been light in her area for several days now and that the thier kerosene lamp which she normally uses has gone off, which is why she decided to use the ATM light to do her home work since it’s close to her house.

FCMB bank applauded the girls determination and commitment to her studies and decided to sponsor her to university level, and so offered her the sum of N1 million.

This was made known by the Lagos State Zonal Police PRO, Dolapo Badmos, on her Instagram page where she shared photos from a visit to Dele’s school, she wrote:

“This is what tenacity can cause, don’t give up easily on your goals! She had an assignment, she understands she must achieve it and she went all out not minding the obstacles and challenges! In fact in surmounting her challenges she got a break through!

This is a lesson! Let’s face challenges wholeheartedly, like I told the younger ones I mentored few days back! Challenges always lead to promotion, face it, fight it and you will arrive at your destination! Congratulations to this young dedicated and courageous pupil!

(THE STORY OF YOUNG DELE THAT USED ATM LIGHT TO DO HER HOMEWORK. THE BANK IS SPONSORING HER EDUCATION TO UNIVERSITY LEVEL AND SHE HAS BEEN GIVEN 1M NAIRA FOR HER FURTHER UPKEEP) THANKS TO THE BANK FOR SUCH GOOD GESTURE OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.. CSR AND THANKS TO THE GREAT SOUL THAT CAPTURED THAT MOMENT FOR US ALL TO SEE.”
