Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man identified as Monday Uwem for killing his 26-year-old wife, Blessing Menaboo, at their apartment in Aparama Fishing Camp, Akassa community, Brass Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, Monday Uwem was arrested after his neighbours uncovered that he killed his wife and buried her corpse in the kitchen of their apartment.
Bayelsa Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Butswat Asinim, confirmed the development saying the suspect confessed to the crime.
“Investigation has commenced into the murder of one Blessing Menaboo ‘26 years, a resident of Aparama Fishing Camp, Okumbiri Town, Akassa, Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.
“The deceased was allegedly killed by her husband one Monday Uwem 30 years, at their residence at Aparama Fishing Camp and buried her body in a shallow grave in their kitchen.
“The suspect who confessed to the crime was arrested and detained for further interrogation and Investigation”.
Meanwhile, KanyiDaily had reported that a 44-year-old man identified as Sibusiso Mpungose was handed four life sentences in prison for killing his four children by hanging because his wife asked him for a divorce.
Mpungose told the court that he killed his children because he believed his wife was cheating on him.
