Osun State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old-man, Adeleye Olusesan, for allegedly raping the three-year-old daughter of his lover in Ifetedo area of the state.
Olusesan was said to have committed the crime on February 18, 2020, when the victim’s mother left her daughter with him and went to work at a farm.
The Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, said the victim’s mother reported the matter to the police after she came back from the farm and discovered that her daughter had been violated.
While parading the suspect at the police headquarters in Osogbo, Kakumo said the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation.
He said that the victim had been taken to the hospital for treatment, and that the medical examination conducted revealed extensive laceration into her rectum.
Kokumo added that the suspect would be charged to court after the completion of investigation on the matter.
