Nigeria Immigration Service suspends redeployment of five female officers who participated in Falz’s ‘Bop Daddy’ challenge.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) have suspended the redeployment of five female officers who participated in the viral ‘Bop Daddy challenge‘ initiated by popular singer, Falz the bad guy.

KanyiDaily recalls that the NIS had in April queried the five female officers in question — Priscilla Irabor, Catherine J. Bakura, Blessing Alfred Udida, Binti I. Attabor, and Ockiya Eneni — for participating in the challenge while in uniform.

The ladies were accused of indecency while flaunting their bodies and desecration of the Service uniform in the viral video.

In a letter dated May 12, 2020, the agency as a way of punishing the ladies, transferred the five of them to states in Nigeria where the fight against insurgency and Coronavirus is ongoing.

Following their redeployment, Falz, In the letter dated May 15, 2020, requested that the NIS Comptroller-General reconsiders the decision to post the officers especially during this trying times.

The singer, who pleaded on behalf of the five officer, said the current inter-state lockdown in the country would not make it possible for the officers to resume at the places they were redeployed to.

Reacting in a statement issued Friday, the Nigeria Immigration service through its twitter handle wrote in parts, “that the earlier Posting Order be put on hold pending the conclusion of the investigation”.

“PUBLIC NOTICE The attention of the Comptroller General Muhammad Babandede MFR has been drawn to some trending matters on some social media platforms regarding the deployment of some of our Personnel to some Formations across the country.

“2. It is important to note that staff deployment remains a vital practice of regimented organizations such as ours and should be seen as such. As an agency, we maintain zero tolerance to any matters bordering on offences against discipline among members of our workforce irrespective of gender.

“3. We have high premium for staff development and indeed encourage personal efforts but that must be within the confines of our rules and regulations. 4. The matter involving the Personnel in question is still being investigated and therefore,the Comptroller General has directed

Meanwhile, KanyiDaily had reported that a court in Kano sentenced a singer, Mohammed Yusuf, to two years imprisonment for defaming the character of the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, in a viral song.
