The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 462 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infection in the country to 43,151.
The NCDC made this known on Friday night via its verified Twitter page, where it revealed that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) topped the daily record with 93 new COVID-19 cases, followed by Lagos State with 78 new infection.
Other states with new cases includes: Plateau-64, Kaduna-54, Oyo-47, Ondo-32, Adamawa-23, Bauchi-19, Rivers-9, Ogun-9, Delta-9, Edo-7, Kano-6, Enugu-6, Nasarawa-5, Osun-1.
The health centre further revealed that 19,565 people have so far been discharged, while the infection has claimed 879 lives across the country.
“On the 31st of July 2020, 462 new confirmed cases and 1 death were recorded in Nigeria,” NCDC said.
“The 462 new cases are reported from 16 states- FCT (93), Lagos (78), Plateau (64), Kaduna (54), Oyo (47), Ondo (32), Adamawa (23), Bauchi (19), Rivers (9), Ogun (9), Delta (9), Edo (7), Kano (6), Enugu (6), Nasarawa (5), Osun (1).
“Till date, 43151 cases have been confirmed, 19565 cases have been discharged and 879 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
