The founder of Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries, Pastor Sylvester Ofori has been arrested by the police for murdering of his 27-year-old wife, Barbara Tommey, in the United States.
The 35-year-old Ghanaian pastor was arrested on Tuesday night by Orlando Police Department after he shot his wife multiple times outside her working place at the Navy Federal Credit Union branch on Gardens Park Boulevard.
Pastor Sylvester has reportedly been abusing his wife for a long time. Due to the abuse, Barbara was persuaded by her family to leave him. But Sylvester tracked her to her workplace yesterday and shot her seven times.
Orlando Police, confirming his arrest in a terse statement, said Tommey “was shot near the front door of the business by her husband, Sylvester Ofori.”
“The shooting was captured on security footage. From the footage you can tell that she’s trying to get inside. Unfortunately, he shoots her outside of the establishment,” Police Chief Orlando Rolon said.
Police added that “detectives worked tirelessly throughout the day in order to achieve the following outcome in this case.”
A search warrant was served at Ofori’s apartment, where he was arrested and taken into custody at the Orange County Jail, without bond. The pastor is being charged with first-degree murder with a firearm.
