Two suspected armed robbers have been burnt to death at the Refinery junction in Uvwie Local Government Area of Warri, Delta State.
It was gathered that one of the suspects managed to escape from the scene of the mob action which happened on Wednesday.
A witness told Newsmen that the two yet-to-be-identified suspects had allegedly shot and wounded a teacher working with the Army Day Secondary School, Effurun.
The source sais the suspects dispossessed the lady teacher of her handbag containing N200,000 at opposite Jowil by Okoloba junction and fled.
“After snatching the handbag, the assailants went to a bar in Ekpan where they ordered revellers to lie down and dispossessed them of their belongings.
“They were, however, chased after by some youths who caught up with them and set them ablaze at “Refinery Junction,” the witness said.
Meanwhile, the teacher earlier robbed, wounded and dispossessed of her money is said to be receiving medical attention at the Central Hospital in Warri.
Delta Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident saying:“It is true that two suspected robbers were set ablaze at “Refinery Junction.”
