A Katsina woman has dumped her newborn baby with a note saying “she was impregnated and abandoned by a man who promised to marry her”.
It was gathered that the baby girl was found on Friday early morning inside a carton at Unguwar Amare, an outskirt of Daura Town, Katsina State.
The newborn was found with a handwritten note pleading with whoever finds the child to name her “Barira” and take care of her.
The mother also explained in the letter that she was deceived by an unnamed man who impregnated her and dumped her after he promised to marry her.
A Facebook user, Yawale Musa Kallah Daura, who shared the news, said the baby is in the hospital after she was rescued by a good samaritans who took her to the police station.
