Lagos State Police Command has arrested a popular comedian, Debo Adebayo better known as Mr Macaroni, for being a participant of #OccupyLekkiTollGate protest.
During the protest this morning, Mr Macaroni was seen via his Instagram page giving an update about the current situation at the Lekki Toll Gate before he was arrested and moved into a police vehicle known as ‘Black Maria’.
Reports say the popular comedian was arrested alongside several others who are protesting against the decision of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry to reopen the Lekki Toll Gate plaza.
Many Nigerians have condemned the reopening of the toll plaza which has been closed since last year following the alleged killing of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers and police on October 20, 2020.
