Popular American rapper, DaBaby has shared his own version of “Essence“, a song by Nigerian Afrobeat star, Wizkid featuring budding songstress, Tems.
DaBaby, who shared a preview of the song on his Instagram page, also shot an official video for the two-minutes freestyle which he posted on his YouTube channel.
In the freestyle, the rapper was heard speaking about the cancel culture that was directed at him over his recent comments about queer people, and how he would handle the issue the best way he could.
Sharing the preview of “Essence” which he remade, DaBaby wrote: “Even if I’m the brokest nigga in the room I’m still a BIG Dawg “ESSENCE” Freestyle.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Justin Bieber had also thanked Wizkid for featuring him on the remix of “Essence” which he described as the “song of the summer.”
“Essence” which was released off Wizkid’s fourth studio album, “Made in Lagos album”, has now become the “most Shazamed” song in the United States.

I never thought I’d see DaBaby take on ‘Essence,’ but he really put his own spin on it! The music video is visually stunning and his flow complements the original vibe perfectly. Excited to see how fans react to this remix!
