Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Daniel Benson, popularly known as Buju, has taken to social media to announce that he has officially changed his stage name to “BNXN”.
The singer, who made the announcement in a video shared on his Twitter page on Friday, February 18, said his new name would be pronounced as ‘Benson’.
In the video, Benson revealed that the reason behind his decision to change “Buju” which has become a household name over the years was because of a Jamaican singer known as Buju Banton, who had trademarked the name.
He wrote, “It’s no longer ‘Buju’. Call me ‘Benson’ written as ‘BNXN’”
KanyiDaily recalls that Buju had recently revealed why he didn’t renew his contract with Spaceship Entertainment, a record label owned by Afrobeats superstar, Burna Boy.
