A video circulating on social media shows a policeman taking refuge in a shop after gunmen allegedly killed three of his colleagues during an attack at a checkpoint in Enugu State.
In the viral video, the visibly-traumatized policeman could be seen panicking, kneeling down inside the shop as he removed his phone from his pocket to make a call.
The man who was capturing the moment with a camera could be heard asking the policeman if any police officer was killed in the attack, but the officer was pretty shaken up by the incident.
The man asked the policeman to stay inside the shop for safety, adding that he would help check outside if the situation was under control.
A Twitter user, @m_microstrategy, who shared a video of the policeman, also revealed that the gunmen kidnapped a woman and her driver during the attack which happened at a police checkpoint near Ulumalinda estate, Enugu south LGA.
He wrote, “In my life I have never seen a policeman look this traumatized. This was happening in Enugu while the Ibadan attack was happening. 3 police men ended up dead, a woman and her driver kidnapped while stray bullet also touch another guy. Insecurity in this country is very scary!”
KanyiDaily had also reported how armed robbers killed two policemen and an unspecific number of civilians during an attack on a bullion van in the Idi-Ape area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
