Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has won the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The governor polled a total of 1,040 delegates votes to defeat his rival, Hazeem Gbolarunmi who had two votes during the primary election held at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
Reacting on his Twitter page, Makinde thanked all the PDP stakeholders who helped him poll the highest number of valid votes in the primaries.
He wrote, “Thank you to all the stakeholders of our great party, PDP, in Oyo State, friends and well-wishers and everyone who contributed in no small measure to the success of the governorship primaries today. I am honoured to again be your flagbearer in the 2023 governorship elections.”
