Prolific author, Reno Omokri has urged the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) not to end its prolonged strike while giving reasons for his statement.
According to the former presidential aide, if the Accountant General of the Federation can siphon a whopping sum of N80bn, the union shouldn’t end its industrial action rather it should persuade the government to pay the N80bn into their account.
This is coming after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested the Accountant General, Ahmed Idris over N80bn fraud.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Reno wrote:
“Dear ASUU,
If the Accountant General of the Federation can steal ₦80 billion, you have no reason to end your strike. Ask Buhari to use the stolen ₦80 billion to pay you and keep the change. After all, the money ASUU is asking for is not even up to ₦80 billion!
