President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the attack staged by some unknown gunmen on St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, Owo Kingdom, in Ondo State which resulted in the death of several worshippers.
KanyiDaily recalls that some unknown gunmen with assorted weapons invaded the Church on Sunday, 5th June and descended heavily on the worshippers. While many died due to this gruesome attack, others sustained injuries and were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo.
Speaking on the incident, Buhari in a statement via his media aide, Femi Adesina, said eternal sorrow awaits the assailants both on earth and ultimately in the hereafter.
Buhari mourned the departed souls and commiserated with their families, the Catholic church, and the Government of Ondo State. He also charged emergency agencies to swing into action and to see to the fact that the perpetrators of this act are made to face the wrath of the law.
In his words:
“No matter what, this country shall never give in to evil and wicked people, and darkness will never overcome light. Nigeria will eventually win.”
