Gunmen Attack Labour Party Governorship Candidate In Osun, Lasun Yusuf

Lasun Yusuf, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Osun State, has revealed that gunmen invaded his residence.

In a post shared on his Twitter page on Monday, Yusuf who is a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, said some armed men shot randomly at his residence.

“Just in: gun men in uniforms are presently in my residence shooting sporadically,” he wrote.

In another tweet about five hours later, Lasun said: “And (remember) when the disbelievers plotted against you to imprison you, or to kill you, or to expel you (from your home, Makkah); they were plotting and Allah too was plotting, and Allah is the best of plotters. Quran 8 verse 30.”

When contacted on Monday, the police spokesperson in Osun, Opalola Yemisi said officers have been dispatched to investigate the matter.

“The report got to me this morning. The divisional police officer (DPO) in that area has gone there to confirm to ascertain what really happened,” she said.
