Kwara State Magistrate Court in Ilorin has remanded a pastor, Makanjula Olabisi Lanre, in prison for allegedly having carnal knowledge of three biological sisters.
The randy Pastor of the Revolutionary Insight Church in Ilorin was accused of persuading the victims to attend his church around Agba Dam in the metropolis sometime in 2018.
The police First Information Report (FIR) said the pastor invited the eldest of the three sisters for prayers, adding that when she declined his proposal to be his lover, he eventually raped her and her two siblings at different times.
“When the complainant (victims) discovered that the pastor had been taking sexual advantage of them, they stopped attending the church, a development that made the pastor threaten that calamity will befall them.”
Police prosecutor, Matthew Ologbonsaye, informed the court of the motion exparte attached to the charges and urged that the pastor be remanded pending the outcome of the legal advice.
The trial Magistrate, Fatimah Salihu, ruled that the court lacked jurisdiction to take the pastor’s plea. The matter was adjourned to 14th September 2022 for mention.
