Lagos Teacher Remanded In Prison For Sodomy

It was gathered that during the sitting on Monday, the chief magistrate, B. O Osunsanmi refused to listen to the defendant‘s plea and ordered him to be remanded in Kirikiri until September 28 for the director of public prosecution’s advice.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the defendant, who resides at 29, Akinwunmi street, Ifako Gbagada, Lagos, is being tried for sodomy.

Raji Akeem (ASP), the prosecutor, told the court that the offence was committed in June at Ifako, Lagos.

Akeem said the victim, who is an Arabic boarding school student, came home for Sallah break to tell his mother that he wasn’t going back to school again.

He also said the victim told his mother how the defendant, who is one of his teachers, “has been sexually penetrating his anus.”

The prosecutor said that the offence was reported at the police station and the defendant was arrested for the offence which, according to him, contravened section 261 of the criminal laws of Lagos state, 2015.

KanyiDaily had also reported how a primary school teacher, Ebenezer Olawuyi was arrested for allegedly sleeping with two of his male pupils in Oyo.
