Four elderly persons were rescued by operatives of the Lagos State police command from being lynched by a mob in Lagos over alleged attempt to kidnap a 10-year-old girl.
This was after they were given severe beating by the mob.
This was disclosed in a tweet by the Spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin on his official twitter handle on Thursday evening.
Hundeyin said investigation is ongoing and called on people to stop jungle justice, noting that they should instead report crime and criminals to the police.
He wrote, “These four elderly people allegedly attempted to kidnap a 10 year old girl. People around apprehended them and beat them black and blue. The Police arrived on time. Investigation is ongoing. Stop jungle justice! Report crime and criminals to the Police.”
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily had reported how some cable thieves survived lynching after severe beating by mob.
