Supporters of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi trooped out in their thousands for a peaceful rally in Abuja on Saturday.
The rally, which is in solidarity of Obi and his running-mate, Ahmed Datti Baba began at the Unity Fountain at around 9am, witnessed a very large turnout of supporters.
The supporters matched through the streets of capital city to the Abuja city gate, paralysing vehicular movements amid heavy presence of security personnel.
Vehicular movement around Transcorp Hilton to the National Assembly complex was halted.
Reports say solidarity rallies for Peter Obi have taken place in no fewer than 15 locations around 14 states of the Federation.
The rallies come amid mocking statements that the LP presidential candidate has no physical structures beyond social media.
Obi faces Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and others for the 2023 presidential election.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily had reported that security agents attacked supporters of Obi who held a similar rally last week in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital and disrupted the march.
