The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has arrived in Benin, Edo State capital for the party’s campaign.
Atiku was received by the Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, and other senior officials of the state.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Atiku also disclosed that he paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Oba Ewuare II.
The PDP presidential candidate also expressed his gratitude to the Oba and the palace for the reception accorded him and his delegation.
He wrote, “It’s my honour and pleasure to pay a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin, HRM Oba Ewuare II, upon my arrival in the Heartbeat of the Nation. I most sincerely express my gratitude to the Oba, and the Palace for the warm reception accorded me and my delegation. Oba a to p’aye.”
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his allies were absent as the PDP flagged off its presidential campaign in Akwa-Ibom state.
